Political values and value orientations in an intergenerational comparison of generations X and Y

The bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of political values within the intergenerational comparison of generation X and generation Y. It is divided into three sections. In the first section, it introduces the reader to the theoretical concepts of generations, values and the shift of values across generations. Within the framework of generations, it deals with their definition and subsequently also with the issue of defining individual generations. Then it focuses on defining generation X and generation Y. As for values, it pays attention to politics as a value and then defines the concepts of freedom, equality, justice and participation. It also focuses on value orientations in politics and how political culture affects politics in the Czech Republic. Subsequently, it deals with the shift in the values of generations, where it also presents current knowledge in the researched area. In the second part, it presents the methodology of the research, which is carried out using a quantitative method as a secondary analysis of EVS data from 1999 and 2017. Research questions, hypotheses are presented here, and the work with the data is described. In the third part, it introduces the reader to the results of the analysis and answers the research questions.
Value orientation and Moral Responsibility in Corporate Education of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic

Currently, Corporate education does not only have to be used to transfer know-how, but also to develop the required values and moral principles that help employees to better navigate and succeed in the organizational culture. For the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic, this coexistence with the internal culture and values of the organisation is essential because it is required of employees and officers not only internally but also by legislative regulations. It is fundamentally linked to the purpose of the service: to protect the lives and health of people, the environment, animals and property from fires and other emergencies and crises. This research paper provides insight into the internal education of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic and the value setting of the firefighter organizational culture. It aims to map how the value orientation and moral responsibility of officers and employees develop or change and whether these changes are related to the internal education received. Life quality of people with attention deficit

This thesis focuses on the issue of quality of life of an individual with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), with particular attention paid to the impacts of ADHD on important areas of life that significantly affect the quality of life. In addition, the thesis also deals with values and goals and subjective perception of the above syndrome of individuals diagnosed and living with ADHD. The answers to those questions were obtained through semi-structured interviews with five selected respondents and a questionnaire survey focusing on SEIQoL method as a tool to evaluate the quality of life. The results of the research show that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder interferes with daily functioning in life and influences the quality of life. The most important value in life was identified to be the area of interpersonal relations in the sense of mutual support and mainstay. The respondents have mentioned positive dimension of ADHD syndrome that can be considered as benefit in life. It is very important to consider each person as unique individual who should be treated with respect. Moreover, it is also important to take the symptoms of ADHD into consideration and not make light of them, as trivialization is what negatively affects human relationships, and it may even result in a distortion of one´s relationship with oneself.
Youth orientation visiting low-threshold facilities for children and young people in relation to values

The thesis deals with the value orientation of adolescents attending low-threshold facilities for children and youth. The theoretical part characterizes the period of adolescence, defines the concept of value and describes the phenomena that influence the formation of values. Furthermore, the theoretical part presents the value orientation of youth in other research and describes low-threshold facilities for children and youth. The practical part contains quantitative research, the main aim of which was to determine the value orientation of adolescents attending low-threshold facilities for children and youth. Other objectives were to find out how young people understand the concepts of religion, faith, God and how they approach the issue of helping others.
The connection between value orientation and wellbeing of university students

In the theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis, the historical development of values and well-being as a contruct in psychology is briefly described. The thesis focuses on the values and well-being of university students and the findings presented here are also related to adolescents and young adults beyond the general level. Furthermore, it desfine the psychological constructs of value and well-being as they are approached in theories used in standardized methods, and in general these will be defined for the purposes of the work. The empirical part of the work tries to find out any connection between the results of the SWLS (Satisfaction with life survey), PVQ (Portrait value questionnaire) and PWBS (Psychological well-being survey) questionnaires. The research sample consists of N = 195 respondents from universities across the Czech Republic from various faculties. The aim of the thesis is to find out the differences in value orientation and the level of well-being among students of different universities and different fields of study and to discover a possible correlation between certain values and well-being.
Life values during the COVID-19 pandemic

The bachelor thesis deals with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on values. The theoretical part includes the definition of values, the processes of creation, development and changes of values and presents some classifications of values. In other chapters, the work focuses on values through the lens of Shalom Shwartz's theory. In the last part of the theoretical work is presented the impact of the pandemic on humans, there are chapters social isolation, trauma, stress, post-traumatic stress, pandemics as a perceived threat or post-traumatic human development. The practical part is processed quantitatively and finds out what effect the Covid-19 pandemic had on values, how the values have changed after the pandemic and what are the changes in values related to the pandemic.
The value at the same time youth

This diploma thesis is focused on teenagers' life values (age 17-18 years) and summarizes results of a research conducted on this topic. The theoretical part gives an explanation of terms: young people, value, value orientation, authority, roles of life values in a young person's life. The empiric part searches for young people values and analyses intermediate results. The aim of this project is to focus on 17-18 years old young people's value system using a project method and to find out what values young people, taking part in the project, prefer. The theoretical part is focused on the axiological point of view of the term young people, society, young people influencing, authority. A project method was used for research in the empiric part. The project method was based on an essay. Students of 4 - year studying program of Gymnazium Opatov in Prague wrote an essay to identify their life values that were analysed and transformed into graphs as well.
The view of primary school teachers on current young generation

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to bring the opinion of youth closer and to map the rural and town teacher's opinion of the current young generation. The purpose of the work is to clarify the values perceived by teachers among young people and teacher's knowledge and understanding of attitudes and subcultures of the current young generation. This bachelor thesis includes two parts, practical and theoretical. The theoretical part of the work is based on current literature and deals with the following topics which include primary school teachers, the characteristics of the young generation and the value orientation of young people, where the influence of modern technologies and of the family on the formation of the value orientation of youth is mentioned. The topic of youth subculture contains e.g. the riskiness of subcultures and the post-subcultural era. In the practical part of the work, the author uses her quality research to map how selected primary school teachers from the town and the countryside perceive the value orientation of youth and how they approach their subcultures.
Parental influence on creating their children's attitude towards kinetic activities

The thesis "Parental influence on creating their children's attitude towards kinetic activities" analyzes the degree of the parental influence on creating their children's positive attitude towards kinetic activities and searches for other factors affecting these attitudes. In the theoretical part of the thesis I highlighted the influence of the parents on creating personality of the child and the importance of upbringing in a family. I also emphasised the need of meaningful use of the children's leisure time and last but not least I pointed out the affect of kinetic activities on child's health. In the empirical part of the thesis approximately 120 respondents (children aged 13-15) and their parents coming from the Orlicko-ustecko region were examined using quantitative questionnaires. I looked for the ways that the parents use to encourage their children's attitude towards movement and for other aspects that help to strengthen those attitudes. The results of the examination show that it is exactly the parents who play the biggest role in creating a stable attitude of the children towards movement and so it is crucial to pay special attention to this area of the child's development. The Value Orientation in the life and work of nurses

Bachelor thesis titled "The Value Orientation in the life and work of nurses" is focused on exploration in the values of nurses working at the University Hospital Motol. The theoretical part of the paper gives a brief outline of the life values, issues of general value orientation and characteristics of individual groups of values. In the empirical part data were collected through a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire contained questions relating to the issue or determining the preference of selected environmental values in relation to age, length of practice and education of nurses.
